PRE COURSE MODULE
Understand the software, terminology, and output of your drone mapping mission; the key inputs to get the right outputs.
How do you get the best results out in the field? This module will help you set a survey that returns reliable data.
Effectively extract information and present spatial analysis. Learn to produce a map of your survey that includes all essential elements.
Get real hands-on experience with flying drones outdoors; understand the workflow required to undertake data capture missions; create and execute a flight plan designed for capturing mapping data; design and execute a plan to capture corresponding field survey data; create orthomosaic and 3D digital surface models and use GIS to display, create and edit spatial data.
Be trained to teach your students how to capture spatial data with drones, process that data, and using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyse, measure, map, and communicate their findings. Instil confidence and empower you to build competencies, knowledge and the skills to teach She Maps STEM programs in accordance with the National Curriculum.

Meet the Education Director
Dr Karen Joyce holds a PhD in Geographical Sciences and is a leader in remote sensing and spatial mapping. She has led numerous programs within Australia and internationally and developed educational resources for primary, elementary, secondary and tertiary institutions as well as private industry and government organisations.
